Hong Kong, February 16th, 2005 - The CSAV Group today announced that it has established its Agency operations in India. The company will be known as CSAV Group Agencies (India) Private Limited and will represent Norasia Container Lines Limited and Compañia Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV) shipping line.

India is a key part of CSAV's global strategy and its entry in the market underlines the importance of the country and the significance CSAV places on it as part of its overall global operation.

CSAV Group Agencies (India) Private Limited will have 11 offices in key locations in India and employ over 200 staff, which will underline its focus to provide outstanding service to its customers.

Norasia has been the key to CSAV's expansion in India with outstanding growth and development over the last few years. As of February 2005 Norasia has three services that call in India and is one of the key leading lines in the ports of Nhava Sheva, Tuticorin, and Mundra.

In 2003 the CSAV Group had revenue of US$2.1 billion, thus making it one of the world's top 20 shipping lines. It operates 42 services with 79 vessels on a global basis, and has placed orders for a significant number of large container ships.

Compañia Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV) is a Chilean publicly traded shipping company, presently the largest in Latin America and one of the oldest shipping companies in the world, having been founded in 1872. CSAV provides container and specialized cargo services (bulk, reefer and vehicles).
